Questions?

  • How can we book?

    By phone or on site.

  • How far in advance should I book?

You can book the same day, but the further in advance you book, the more likely you are to have the boat of your choice available for the desired duration. We recommend booking two to three days in advance, especially for a hot and sunny weekend.

  • Can we pay by credit card?

    Yes.

  • Do you have lockers to leave stuff in?

No. We can keep your belongings unattended. It is therefore safer to take them with you.

  • Are children counted as adults?

Yes. Except for three children under 12 who count as two adults.

  • Do I need a license to rent a boat?

With the exception of the Revolution 60 HP motorboat and the Surprise sailboats, all our boats are license-free.

  • Can we swim offshore?

Quite. Carefully avoid the current area in the port and the entrance to it. Also be careful not to stray far from the boat, especially on windy days. Finally, turn off the engine!

  • How far can we go?

As far as you want, as long as you return on time.

  • Can I take a baby on a chartered boat?

Yes. We can lend infant size vests if needed.

  • From what age can we rent a boat?

10 years for a pedal boat and 14 years for a motor boat or a sailboat. Minors must have authorization from a legal guardian.

  • Are animals allowed on board?

Animals are only allowed on pedal boats.

  • Is my foreign navigation license valid in Switzerland?

Yes, provided you reside in the country issuing the permit. If in doubt, contact us!

  • Why can't we take several motorboats at the same time?

The temptation to join another boat is often strong. However, renting our boats does not require experience. Most customers are therefore unaware of the dangers and the high risk of accidents when they want to get closer to another boat. To avoid long and tedious explanations, it is easier to rent only one motorboat per group.

  • You can still rent several Pioner-Canot at the same time, or even several pedal boats. For what ?

As the Pioner-Canot material is less rigid, the boat is more resistant. Nevertheless, we ask our customers to take great care when sailing with several boats.

Pedal boats are not as fast, so there is less risk of serious accidents. However, they are still sensitive to contact.

  • Why can't I get within 300 metres of the coast?

Because it's simpler than quoting article 53 of the Ordinance on Inland Navigation (ONI) which explains that it is forbidden for most of our boats to sail below 150 meters from the coast while up to at 300 meters, the speed is limited to 10 km. This also avoids damaging the boats on possible shoals/rocks.

  • Why is the speed limited in the port?

To avoid making waves. The boats in the port being moored next to each other, the slightest eddy amplifies the contacts.

  • On a motorboat, who do I have priority over?

On almost no one. Article 44 of the ONI has the order of priorities for boats sailing on the lake, and the motor boat is at the bottom of the list. When in doubt, give priority!

  • What are the yellow buoys for?

To delimit areas that must not be crossed.

  • Can we eat in the boats?

Of course. Out of respect for subsequent customers, make it clean.

  • Can we barbecue there? Or smoke a hookah?

For obvious safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden to smoke hookah or have a barbecue on our boats.

  • Alcohol and shipping?

As in a car, 0.5 per thousand.

  • What is the "Swiss Sea Permit"?

It is a permit to sail at sea with the Swiss flag.

  • Where is the water jet?

The water jet is located about 50m from our rental.

Its timetable varies according to the season. It comes on around 10 a.m. and goes off around 10 p.m. in the evening. If it's off during the day, it's probably too windy to keep it on.
